It’s fabulous to have a house on the coast. But the salty air in coastal areas is a real challenge for aluminium. Our luminaires are therefore always designed to withstand salty air even in the long term. Furthermore, we now also offer some IP44.DE models with a coastal grade finish, which makes them extraordinarily corrosion resistant. How do we know that? Because all models with a coastal grade finish go through a real endurance test in a testing lab. In the salt spray test according to the standard DIN EN ISO 9227, they are sprayed with a saline solution at 35° Celsius in a test chamber for 1,000 hours. This proves that they really are ready for the coast.
