FAQ

How do I start using the solarbank, and will it work immediately?

After unpacking for the first time, the solarbank needs a first light pulse lasting about 10 seconds, which is provided by daylight. This activates the solar panel.

To be sure that the battery is fully charged, it should be exposed to direct sunlight ideally for 2 days; during this time, the solarbank is preferably not yet connected to the portable luminaire or the desired electronic device to be charged.

Once the solarbank is fully charged, it can be connected with the corresponding luminaire or the desired electronic device.

What functions do the USB-A + USB-C sockets of the solarbank have?

USB-A socket: Charging the portable IP44.DE luminaires or other electronic devices.

USB-C-socket: Charging the portable IP44.DE luminaires or other electronic devices. + charging the solarbank via your power connection with a USB-C-cable and a corresponding charger (not included in the delivery).

Remove the USB-C-cable when the green indicator lamps light up. After charging, put the USB-C + USB-A cover back over the socket again to warrant protection class IP444.

Does the battery of the solar panel charge even on cloudy days with little solar harvest, or even in autumn/winter months?

The solar panel is also charged on cloudy days and also in autumn/winter months and then still reaches up to 25% of full power.

The alignment of the solar panel must be adjusted to the level of the sun in the sky, which changes according to the season.

On delivery, the battery is charged to about 70%. Before starting the solarbank, it should be exposed to direct sunlight ideally for 2 days; during this time, the solarbank is preferably not yet connected to the portable luminaire or the desired electronic device to be charged. How do I clean the solarbank?

To make sure your products don't lose their looks and bring you lasting pleasure, we need a little help from you: please clean all components regularly. Please also remember that different materials and environments need different kinds of care.

Clean the solarbank regularly to remove dirt and debris. Do not use a pressure washer.

A gentle solvent-free household cleaning agent is all you need for maintenance. Then polish the solarbank off with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use scouring agents, steel wool, scouring pads, acid or alkaline cleaning agents as these would damage the surface.

Caring & Useful information

Our luminaires have been designed to do their job for many years. But we need a little help from you to make sure that they don't lose their looks as the years go by and that they will continue to bring you pleasure for a long time! Please clean your IP44.DE luminaires regularly. And please also remember that every material and every environment needs a different kind of care.

Caring for powder-coating

The luminaires have a powder-coated finish that offers high chemical and mechanical resistance. As with every surface, the colour shade of our powder-coated surfaces can also be changed when exposed to UV radiation (e.g. sunlight). Exposure to UV light can cause changes to the colour pigments embedded in the powder coating. A gentle, solvent-free household cleaner is all that's needed to care for the luminaire, which should then be rubbed off with a dry, soft cloth. Abrasive cleaners, steel wool, scouring pads, acids or alkali cleaning agents should not be used as these would damage the surface.
